Originally a graffiti artist, the Sign Guy sells his work online, at local businesses and at festivals.
Flying Monkey – 819 Jefferson Ave
Kris is a Cleveland based artist and Cleveland Institute of Art graduate (’03). His upbringing in the rust-belt (son of a steelworker) and love of industrial art was a natural catalyst for his works. Kris creates rich toned work with the allure & feel of vintage antiques utilizing repurposed wood, metal, and glass. All images are tied to an idea of transforming materials and the connection between natural and industrial. Images are created by hand on materials from the location that the photo was taken. He then paints these works using different layers of natural colored stain and inks. His work pays respect to the industrial rust-belt where he was born.
